We just love it when our customers win awards!
And it’s just been announced Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in Melbourne, Australia has won ‘two hats’ in the 37th The Age Good Food Guide Awards, adding to an already impressive list of accolades.
The restaurant – opened in 2o15 – is the sibling of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London, a remarkable establishment which gained a Michelin star within a year, was ranked fifth in ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ in Restaurant magazine and received a second Michelin Star in the 2014 Guide.
But on the other side of the world Dinner in the Crown complex, Melbourne, is catching up fast in the award stakes.
Dinner in Melbourne offers a very modern menu which, like the London restaurant, is inspired by the rich gastronomic history of The Royal Courts of Britain, dating back as far as the 13th century.
The menu is slightly different, though, reflecting the amazing produce – especially the seafood – found locally. For example the Marron & Cucumber Soup – pictured – dates back to c.1730. Marron is a type of crayfish found only down under and is served with roast cucumber salad, golden trout roe, sorrel & grilled onion.
The location is different too, with with stunning views across the Yarra river.
Well done to Head Chef Evan Moore (pictured) and the entire team.
